Christian education has influenced Western education and modern Chinese education. The purpose of Christian higher education is to cultivate spiritual life, character and academic growth, so as to shape the temperament of "whole person education―spiritual, moral, intellectual, physical, social and aesthetic". The purpose of life is service, and service is based on character, knowledge, and skills to achieve one’s dreams. Therefore, Sheng-te Christian College pays special attention to character, virtue and wisdom, and cultivates students' abilities and desires to serve society, glorify God and benefit others.
