The English teaching method of the Applied English Department focuses on listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translation skills. A variety of foreign language-related activities, such as seminars, conferences, presentations and camps, are provided to improve students' English proficiency. The courses of this department aim to enable students to study abroad and to make students more competitive in their respective fields of employment after graduation by cultivating foreign language ability and enriching professional knowledge of foreign language application. The courses are divided into four categories: English listening, speaking, reading and writing; second language acquisition; business, economics, and trade; foreign language theory and application. Overall, fostering interdisciplinary learning will enhance students' diverse interests and abilities, encouraging them to move from the direction of theory to practice. Sheng-te Christian College creates a diversified English learning environment to enhance students' core English skills, strengthen English training, and enhance students' language skills.

Online Courses and Live Online Classes
Our college has a special cooperation with the College of the Canyons (COC), California, USA on the 1 + 1 Associate of English Program. The course is fully in line with the content of American curriculum, and the teachers are mainly American professors who are teaching professional subjects that meet international certification. There are three kinds of courses in the first year: Credit Method: face-to-face teaching on campus, online courses, or online synchronous teaching―Live Classes. After reaching the standard of proficiency in English, the credits can be transferred to COC for the second year courses. In the second academic year, students can choose whether to study on campus or take online courses, and can apply for graduation after completing 60 credits.
